Here is a photo of Indian Island, as well as a plaque dedicated to the Indian Island Massacre. On the plaque it refers to the island as Tuluwat (the Wiyot name of the island). The plaque is located on Woodley Island, in Humboldt Bay between Samoa, CA and Eureka, CA.
Annually, Wiyot members hold a vigil near or on Indian Island in Eureka, CA, honoring those lost in the Indian Island Massacre of 1860. This video depicts the ceremony in 2006, run by Cheryl Seidner, head of the Wiyot Tribal Chair.
